Yale New Haven Children's Hospital takes the role of protecting the health and well being of children very seriously by committing itself to fighting and preventing child abuse and neglect.
Dedicated clinicians provide evaluation and comprehensive treatment in the most sensitive manner to children and adolescents who may have been physically or sexually abused or neglected.
Our services include:
A child life specialist trained in child development provides age-appropriate preparation for the forensic interview and medical examination in suspected cases of sexual abuse. The child life specialist may also provide direct support of children during the physical examination.
