New Haven, CT (Sept. 30, 2026) – Two medical-surgical units at Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) have received the prestigious PRISM Award®, the Premier Recognition in the Specialty of Medical-Surgical Nursing, from the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN).
The national award recognizes exemplary medical-surgical nursing units that demonstrate sustained excellence in patient care management, nursing practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership and clinical outcomes. Earning the PRISM Award places these units among an elite group of medical-surgical nursing teams recognized nationally for fostering a culture of quality, safety innovation and patient-centered care.
The recognition highlights the exceptional work of the nurses and the interdisciplinary teams on 4-7 and 9-7, whose commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork and continuous improvement helps ensure the highest standards of care for every patient.
