Yale New Haven Health celebrates new orthopedic practice on Masonicare campus in Wallingford

Friday, November 5, 2021

New Haven, CT (Nov.5, 2021) –Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) and Yale Medicine unveiled the newest addition to their growing orthopedic service on Masonicare’s Wallingford campus.

Located in the medical office building at 67 Masonic Avenue, YNHHS completely renovated the first floor to offer comprehensive orthopedic services with Yale Medicine physician specialists in both surgical and non-surgical interventions, sports medicine and treating conditions affecting the hand, wrist, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, foot and spine. The site features 10 exam rooms and x-ray onsite.

“We are very proud and excited to realize our goal of bringing services to central Connecticut and to collaborate with a partner that shares our vision and our values,” said Keith Churchwell, MD, president, Yale New Haven Hospital. “That partner is Masonicare. Our ambitious plans to open this site in October of 2020 were temporarily put on hold by the pandemic. But Yale Medicine and Yale New Haven Health remained steadfast and determined in our commitment to this community and assembled a team of orthopedic specialists, advanced practice providers and radiology technicians for patients at this new site. Today is a day to celebrate as several years of planning have finally transformed facility planning and communication into bricks and mortar.”

Masonicare, who owns the three-floor medical building, leased the 7,688 square foot space to Yale New Haven Hospital with the goal of bringing best-in-class orthopedic services to their campus as well as the surrounding area.

“We are delighted to have Yale New Haven Health on campus,” stated Jon-Paul Venoit, president and CEO of Masonicare. “We share a common commitment to the highest standards of quality care and service and are thrilled to help bring this caliber of orthopedic service to Wallingford and neighboring communities.”

As part of a shared mission to provide convenient access to full-service orthopedic care on the Wallingford campus, Masonicare has expanded and renovated their rehabilitation facilities to provide state-of-the-art care for outpatient services and a short-term in-patient unit featuring beautiful, well-appointed private rooms with baths. Physical and occupational therapy is offered for patients recovering from an illness, injury or joint replacement surgery. Rehabilitation services are provided at the Masonicare Health Center located at 22 Masonic Avenue.

“The goal is to create easy access to full-service orthopedic care in one convenient location,” stated Venoit. “We believe that our combined expertise will bring a new level of care and service to residents seeking excellence in orthopedic care and rehabilitation.”

In addition to orthopedics, Yale Medicine will offer neurology physician services at 67 Masonic Avenue.
