Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital using 2 brand new state-of-the-art ambulances for their pediatric & neonatal critical care teams

Tuesday, September 19, 2023

New Haven, CT (September 19, 2023) - YNHCH recently partnered with AMR, which purchased 2 brand new state of the art ambulances for their pediatric & neonatal critical care teams. These new ambulances will provide the safest and most efficient transportation of our neonatal and pediatric patients that require critical care services and treatment.

The YNHCH teams are trained and equipped to provide full ICU capabilities, monitoring, and advanced airway and ventilation management during transport of children all across the state and northeast region. The new ambulances provide more reliable transports and are outfitted with new advanced technology, which leads to better performance during emergency situations. In addition to being considerably more comfortable and climate-controlled, the 4-wheel drive capability will provide more stability as our teams navigate roads during inclement weather conditions. The custom designed interior will be stocked with all the necessary equipment to stabilize, treat, and transport YNHCH pediatric patients.

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), part of Yale New Haven Health, is a nationally recognized, 1,541-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving as the primary teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM). Founded as the fourth voluntary hospital in the U.S. in 1826, today, YNHH has two New Haven-based campuses, and also includes Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital. YNHH has received Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the nation’s highest honor of nursing excellence. YNHH has a combined medical staff of about 4,500 university and community physicians practicing in more than 100 specialties. www.ynhh.org
