Yale New Haven Hospital recognized one of the top three workplaces by Best Workplaces for Commuters

NEW HAVEN, CT (Feb. 2, 2015) – Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) , in addition to winning the Gold Medal by Best Workplaces for Commuters, also was recognized as the “Best of” , one of three organizations in the United States to be so designated. The Best Workplaces for Commuters is a program designed to encourage sustainable transportation nationwide. The announcement was made January 29 during the annual “Race to Excellence” Virtual Awards Ceremony. The awards recognize organizations who have taken exemplary steps to offer transportation options such as vanpool and transit benefits or telework and compressed workweek for their employees.
“We’re very pleased that Yale New Haven Hospital has been recognized and honored for the commitment we have shown to our employees to give them viable alternatives to their daily commute,” said Paul Patton, vice president, Employee Relations at YNHH. “Our employees are the life-blood of our organization and we recognize the importance of giving them alternatives that suit their individual lifestyles, enabling them to balance work/life challenges while treating our patients. “
Best Workplaces for Commuters provides qualified employers with programs and services along with national recognition and an elite designation for offering outstanding commuter benefits, such as free or low cost bus passes. Employers that meet the National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits, a standard established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and maintained by the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR), can become a member of Best Workplaces for Commuters.

Greenwich, CT (May 1, 2019) – Greenwich Hospital will launch a new physician education program to help all doctors recognize potential early signs of breast and ovarian cancer in an effort to diagnose both diseases much sooner. Called the MAT Education Program, the curriculum was developed by physicians at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven and Yale Cancer Center at the behest of Greenwich resident Kaile Josephs Zagger who lost her mother, Marilyn Ann Trahan (MAT) 20 years ago to ovarian cancer.
