Yale New Haven Hospital

Hospital honors those who have made a “noble choice”

YNHH’s Volunteer Services team
YNHH’s Volunteer Services team includes (l-r): Cecilia Kozlowski, coordinator; Joanna Lewczak and Dora Ferrara, senior administrative assistants; Laureen Eller, High School Volunteer Program assistant; Eileen Hansen, senior manager; and Myla Tsapar, Tina Paolillo, Sheryl Sobolewski and Fernanda Clariana, coordinators.

On June 27, Yale New Haven Hospital honored its volunteers with an appreciation luncheon at Anthony’s Ocean View.

Hospital and Yale New Haven Health leaders provided remarks, including Eileen Hansen, senior manager, YNHH Volunteer Services; Alan Friedman, MD, senior vice president and chief medical officer, YNHH, and professor of Pediatrics, Yale School of Medicine; and Tina Bennett, chief experience officer, Yale New Haven Health. Mary Browne, manager, Spiritual Care, YNHH, provided a blessing for the many volunteers in attendance.

The event was an opportunity to recognize the volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to support patients, staff, visitors and the communities the hospital serves. In 2024, more than 1,600 volunteers donated over 106,000 volunteer hours to YNHH.

“Volunteers provide crucial support services that are vital to the hospital and the well-being of our patients,” said Hansen. “Volunteering is a choice – a noble one – and so much of what our hospital does would not be possible without volunteers.”
