Want to make a difference? The YNHH Auxiliary is looking for retirees, homemakers, business professionals, hospital employees and family members, students, community members and others – people like you – to share their time and talent to help the hospital, its patients and the broader community. The Auxiliary has donated millions of dollars toward programs, services, scholarships and health education in the community. Members can be as active as their schedules allow and have opportunities to join committees or participate in social activities and philanthropic endeavors. Yale New Haven Hospital recently launched a Hospitalist APP Residency Program designed for APP graduates who want to strengthen their clinical skills in the challenging acute-care medicine field. This is a paid position with certification offered upon successful completion of the program. The 12-month post-graduate program includes didactic, procedural training and clinical rotations in medicine and subspecialties. The didactic classes will be one day each week, with direct patient care under the guidance of a preceptor during the remainder of the week. The program offers paid time off, continuing medical education, student loan repayment and a comprehensive benefits package. YNHH nurses are invited to apply for the Platt Family Scholarship to help cover tuition in the second half of licensure nursing programs. Applications for the fall 2026 semester are due May 29. In donating funds, the Platt family recognized that many scholarships are awarded in the beginning semesters of nursing programs, leaving significant financial burden on nursing students toward the end of their educational journey. This scholarship is designed to bridge the gap to completion and licensure by awarding tuition funds in the second half of licensure nursing programs.

Employees are invited to nominate a care associate for the quarterly H.O.P.E. (Having Opportunity for a Positive Effect) Award. Nominations are open April 1 through May 2. Visit the YNHH employee intranet for the nomination form. Care associates are: ambulatory care assistants, ambulatory care associates, clinical technicians, emergency department technical associates, ED technicians, medical assistants, mental health workers, milieu counselors, patient care associates, radiology care assistants, technical associates and urology technicians.
