Aidin Eslam Pour, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty. He has extensive experience in performing total hip and knee replacements and robotic/computer navigation to restore mobility and alleviate pain.
Dr. Eslam Pour also addresses complications related to prosthetics, such as dislocation, infection, and pain. He is committed to ensuring that patients feel comfortable and confident in their decision to undergo surgery, and particularly enjoys helping patients regain their mobility and independence. Taking time to fully explain the surgical process, including any potential risks and complications, he works closely with patients to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their unique needs and goals. “It is incredibly rewarding to see the progress that my patients make following surgery and to witness the positive impact that it has on their lives,” he says.
As assistant professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Eslam Pour studies surgical arthritis and joint preservation, and the relationship between the hip and spine. Using 3D imaging and computer simulations, he is working to understand how the pelvis and femur move during daily activities, and how the orientation and design of implants can affect the risk of impingement and dislocation. Through this work, Dr. Eslam Pour aims to improve surgical outcomes and personalized treatment plans. “Every person has a unique anatomy with individualized motion patterns and functions,” he explains. “By leveraging advanced computerized modeling, I hope to personalize surgical approaches and improve outcomes for each patient.”
Dr. Eslam Pour After receiving his medical degree from Oroumieh University of Medical Sciences in Iran, completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, and pursued further specialization with an adult reconstruction fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including a mentored clinical scientist grant from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) and multiple awards from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF).
