James "Jim" Lammlin, APRN, is an accomplished family nurse practitioner (FNP) with over 15 years of clinical experience and a strong leadership background. A native of Connecticut, Jim has dedicated his career to advancing patient care across a range of specialties, including urology, critical care, and emergency medicine. He is passionate about improving health outcomes, particularly in the area of men’s health, where he specializes as a practitioner at Yale Urology and is an active member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA).
Currently, Jim serves as a family nurse practitioner and staff affiliate at the Yale School of Medicine, Department of Urology, where he provides expert care with a focus on men’s health. In this role, he performs a detailed history and physical exams, assists in various surgical procedures, and manages both inpatient and outpatient care. Jim is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to male patients, addressing both common and complex health issues related to urology and sexual medicine. He also works at Yale New Haven Health, contributing to the hospital's commitment to exceptional patient care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Jim has demonstrated strong leadership and operational expertise as an off-shift administrator and clinical resource leader at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. In these roles, he has been instrumental in overseeing hospital operations, improving patient throughput, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols, which has led to improved efficiency and patient safety.
Before entering nursing, Jim served in the U.S. Army for six years as both an artilleryman and a Chinook Helicopter Mechanic. This experience instilled in them a strong work ethic, discipline, and leadership qualities that continue to inform their professional life today. Jim is also a proud Eagle Scout, a designation that reflects their longstanding commitment to personal development, service, and leadership.
A graduate of Chamberlain University with a Master of Science in Nursing, Jim is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. They are also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) and are an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Outside of their professional life, Jim enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, boating, and hiking with their dog. They are deeply committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance and prioritizing physical and mental well-being.
