When you spend the night at YNHH, you may select your meals from a restaurant-style menu and place your order over the phone. Your cooked-to-order meal should be delivered to your room within 45 minutes.
To place an order, call 203-688-MEAL (6325) between 7 am - 7 pm. Recommended meal times are:
Breakfast: 7:30 - 9:30 am.
Lunch: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm.
Dinner: 4 - 6 pm.
A family member or nurse may help you place an order. Family members may even call in an order for a patient from home or order a meal for themselves when they visit.
If your physician restricts your diet, you will be advised when you call to place an order.
Please talk with the dietetic technician about any food preferences, allergies or intolerances you may have. Kosher or vegetarian meals and snacks are available.
For special infant formula, please ask your nurse to contact the dietitian.
Some snacks are available on most patient units. Many have a microwave and coffeemaker available for use by patients and their visitors. Please ask a staff member for assistance.
Hot and cold beverages, snacks and light food offerings are available 24 hours a day in our vending machines. They are located at the exit of the East Pavilion Cafeteria.
Your visitors can enjoy a meal at any of the hospital's cafeterias, grab a bite from our vending machines, or even place an "At Your Request" Room Service order for themselves. Cashless Meal Cards that provide a 15% discount in our cafeterias and at designated vending machines are also available.
