Field Operations

The Center for EMS provides medical oversight to paramedics and EMTs operating in 27 EMS agencies throughout the greater New Haven area. Our medical director, along with our medical advisory board and operations coordinator ensure that our providers receive the best in continuing education and serve the public with exceptional emergency medical care.

Additionally, the center supports a Paramedic Field Instructor group. This group is comprised by a select number of highly experienced paramedics who are tasked with field training paramedic students. 

Finally, the center supports the Sponsor Hospital Area Response Physicians, or “SHARP” team. This is a team of emergency physicians and physician assistants ready to respond to 911 calls, bringing physician level medicine into the field.
