Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital only children’s hospital in CT to be nationally recognized
NEW HAVEN, CT (July 24, 2025) – Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) Emergency Department has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) Lantern Award, which recognizes accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care, and a commitment to quality, safety and a healthy work environment.

The Emergency Nurses Association awarded a record 96 Lantern Awards across the US for emergency departments that demonstrated outstanding leadership, practice, education and advocacy that resulted in improved patient care and staff well-being. The ENA is the premier professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing through advocacy, education, research, innovation, and leadership. ENA advocates patient safety develops industry-leading practice standards and guidelines, and guides emergency health care public policy, who’s members have expertise in triage, patient care and disaster response.
Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) offers Connecticut’s largest and most comprehensive array of pediatric services. With 208 licensed beds, YNHCH includes two neonatal intensive care units, a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, a pediatric psychiatry unit, an adolescent psychiatry unit, 24-hour Level 1 Pediatric Emergency Trauma Center and a pediatric surgery center.
