Seven Yale New Haven Children’s subspecialties achieve national recognition from U.S. News & World Report

New Haven, CT (June 16, 2020) – Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) has been selected among the best children’s hospitals in the nation for seven out of ten pediatric subspecialties in the 2020-21 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, published online today by U.S. News & World Report. YNHCH ranked in diabetes and endocrinology (#6); neonatology (#24); nephrology (#29); gastroenterology and GI surgery (#37); pulmonology (#43); neurology and neurosurgery (#45); cancer (#50). Most notably, Neonatology sustained the major gain it made last year, moving up one more notch in the rankings. Nephrology rose an impressive 13 places from 42 to 29.

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital is a national leader in pediatric care with campuses in New Haven and Bridgeport and relationships across the heath system. The network of seven integrated Pediatric Specialty Centers provides access to more than 35 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties across the region. The centers include: two at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital in New Haven and One Long Wharf in New Haven; 747 Belden Avenue in Norwalk; 500 West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich; 633 Middlesex Turnpike in Old Saybrook and 5520 Park Avenue in Trumbull.

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) offers Connecticut’s largest and most comprehensive array of pediatric services. With 208 licensed beds, YNHCH includes two neonatal intensive care units, a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, a pediatric psychiatry unit, an adolescent psychiatry unit, 24-hour Level 1 Pediatric Emergency Trauma Center and a pediatric surgery center. YNHCH, with campuses in New Haven and Bridgeport, is part of the nationally recognized Yale New Haven Hospital, a 1,541-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital affiliated with Yale School of Medicine. New London, CT (June 28, 2023) – Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday to open a new YNHCH Pediatric Specialty Center at Shaws Cove along with leaders from Lawrence + Memorial Hospital (L+M). The center will begin seeing patients on July 6.
