New Haven, CT (May 11, 2020) – Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) has been ranked #8 in the nation in the 2020 DiversityInc Top Hospitals & Health Systems List. The list rankings were unveiled on May 5 during a virtual event. This award recognizes Yale New Haven Health’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through its work and accomplishments across all levels of the organization. The DiversityInc list recognizes the nation’s top who excel in such areas as hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, people who are LGBT and veterans.

YNHHS continues to develop the diversity profile. YNHHS concluded 2019 as an organization comprised of 78% women and 36% people of color. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion has led the standardization and implementation of the system-wide diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy and partnered with delivery networks in the creation of six Diversity Councils.
YNHHS also developed content and course material to support the education and awareness with ten D&I classes for all staff and spearheaded the launch of the “Let’s Talk” signature platform to foster the efforts of inclusion by establishing a culture that values diversity. DiversityInc Top 50 Survey is the leading assessment of diversity management in corporate America.
