Alicia Dias in an APRN with specialization in Family Practice, certified by the AANP National Certification Board. She previously worked as a Pediatric RN at Yale New Haven Childrens Hospital for 11 years. After completing her master's degree, she worked at Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center in Internal Medicine for 3 years, and subsequently joined health services at the University of New Haven in 2021. Alicia is passionate about working with adolescents and young adults, as she enjoys educating and helping them navigate the health care system (often times on their own for the first time), while also empowering them to take ownership of their health. She believes that a positive patient-provider interaction can help foster trust and confidence, which can contribute to better health outcomes for the patient.Alicia is also a Nursing Clinical Instructor at her alma mater SCSU.Areas of interest include preventative care, reproductive health, STI prevention and treatment, PrEP, and management of acute illnesses.
