Our Approach to Rheumatic Care

Rheumatology focuses on diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the joints, muscles and bones. These conditions include many autoimmune diseases that affect the body's immune system by causing inflammation and breaking down connective tissue and related structures of the body.

Yale New Haven Hospital has both inpatient consultation and outpatient services including an Interventional Immunology Center located at the North Haven Medical Center at 6 Devine Street in North Haven. With specialists dedicated to treating rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, myositis, vasculitis, scleroderma and other autoimmune diseases, the center’s rheumatologists work closely with patients to identify their changing needs and develop a personalized treatment program that may include medication, therapy, lifestyle changes and pain management.

At Yale New Haven Hospital, we benefit from having world-renowned clinicians who focus on excellence in patient care, as well as on research to identify tomorrow’s treatments.
