This Connecticut OEMS approved program will prepare RN candidates to sit for the National Registry Of EMT Paramedic exam. This is required for Connecticut licensure as a paramedic. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and carries out its accrediting activities with EMS programs in cooperation with the CoAEMSP.
The didactic portion of the program will consist of two, 4-hour weeknight classes every week and a 9-hour practical lab day every other Saturday over the course of 10 months. Students will begin their clinical rotations early in the program and have a maximum of 18 months from the start of the program to complete all program requirements. This program is objectives-based. Students can finish the program in as little as 11 months.
The cost of the program is $7,550, not including meals, boarding or parking.
