6/3/2011 — Yale New Haven Hospital has been honored by CIO magazine as a recipient of the 2011 CIO 100. The annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.

"Yale New Haven Hospital is honored to be recognized by CIO magazine for our commitment to demonstrating excellence and innovation in information technology IT," said Daniel Barchi, senior vice president and chief information officer, Yale New Haven Health System and Yale School of Medicine. "Our dedication to enhanced information technology and the correlation to positive patient outcomes have positioned Yale New Haven as a national leader in assuring that the highest quality comprehensive care is delivered to every patient."

YNHH was selected to the magazine's top 100 technology leaders for its IT clinical rounding program in which IT support staff is available to all of the patient care units to ensure the hospital's 450 mobile clinical workstations are fully operational.

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), part of Yale New Haven Health, is a nationally recognized, 1,541-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving as the primary teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM).
