Laura Glick, MD, Internal Medicine, was honored for compassionate care and going above and beyond for a family. All family members were hospitalized with COVID-19 on different units. When it became clear that one family member would not survive, Dr. Glick spent most of a day personally transporting each family member (along with their oxygen tanks and medical equipment) from different parts of the hospital to the ICU to spend a few final hours with their loved one.
Allison Pannella, RN, Winchester Chest Clinic, was honored for going above and beyond for a patient who was discharged to a local facility after a lengthy stay at YNHH. The patient, who relocated to another town after her treatment, called the clinic to request help completing and submitting disability forms. Pannella volunteered to drive to the patient’s town after her shift and pick up the forms from the patient so she could meet the submission deadline. Pannella also brought a meal, which the patient greatly appreciated.
