Keith Churchwell, MD, Yale New Haven Hospital president, will receive the Award of Meritorious Achievement at the American Heart Association (AHA) National Volunteer Awards Virtual Experience Tuesday, June 22. The award honors individuals and organizations for contributions of national significance. Dr. Churchwell was selected based on his leadership, expertise and commitment to greater health equity, and his impact on the AHA and its regions in addressing structural racism and transforming communities. Rebecca Ciaburri, RN, BSN, has been promoted to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital system director of Quality and Safety and Program Development, after serving as associate director of the department. She joined YNHCH as a nurse in 2003 and has served in various clinical and management positions. In her new role, she oversees quality and safety for YNHCH at a system level and serves as administrative director for the Children’s Heart Center. Ciaburri earned her associate’s degree in nursing from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing; her BSN from Chamberlain College of Nursing; and her master’s in healthcare administration from Trident University. 

Marianne Cosgrove, PhD, DNAP, program director of the Yale New Haven Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia (YNHHSNA), has been named a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Fellows have demonstrated outstanding performance and achievement in clinical practice, education, research and professional advocacy. Cosgrove has been a certified registered nurse anesthetist since graduating from the former Hospital of Saint Raphael SNA in 1991. She earned her BS from Salve Regina; her MS in biological sciences: anesthesia from Central Connecticut State University; and her Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice and PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University.
