U.S. News & World Report ranks YNHH top in Connecticut

USNEWS

Yale New Haven Hospital continues to rank among the top U.S. hospitals, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual “America’s Best Hospitals” listing. Of the nearly 5,000 hospitals surveyed, YNHH ranks nationally in nine of 16 specialties.

“It is an honor and privilege to once again be named to the U.S. News & World Report ‘America’s Best Hospitals’ listing,” said Keith Churchwell, MD, YNHH president. “Our world-class staff can take a great deal of pride and satisfaction in this national recognition. We are proud to provide the highest level of care to patients and families, hand in hand with innovative research in an academic clinical setting. This recognition on the U.S. News list of best hospitals is a direct reflection of our commitment to those we care for and the hard work which makes that care possible.”

Yale New Haven Hospital’s Psychiatry program was ranked at #8. YNHH also ranked well in Gynecology (#23); Geriatrics (#29); Pulmonology (#30); Diabetes and Endocrinology and Ear, Nose and Throat (both at #32); Gastroenterology (#45); Urology (#47); and Neurology and Neurosurgery (#49).

The “Best Hospitals” rankings rely on clinical data and an annual survey of specialists. The rankings methodology factors in objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival, discharge-to-home rates, patient volume and nursing quality. In addition, patient outcomes, clinical services and processes, and compliance with best practices are considered. Read the entire national listing.
