Platt Family Scholarship awardees

Yale New Haven Hospital recently awarded the first Platt Family Scholarships to six employees in nursing school. The scholarship they funded covers tuition for the second half of licensure nursing programs. Attending a Sept. 11 scholarship award ceremony were (l-r): Deirdre Lamoureux, RN, nursing professional development specialist and Platt Scholarship Committee member; Monica Piekutowski, manager, ambulatory practice, Heart and Vascular Center, Norwich Cardiology; scholarship awardees Martha Mosquera Guijarro, scheduler, HVC, Norwich; Patricia Molina, patient care associate, Surgical Oncology (NP 15); and Kelly Fajardo, patient care associate, Labor and Birth; Chong Jumarito-Panaguiton, RN, patient services manager, NP 15; Kelli Brown, RN, assistant patient services manager, York Street Campus Emergency Department; and Ivory Blount, RN, director of operations, Occupational Health, Platt Scholarship Committee. Scholarship awardees Kimberly Spearman, mental health worker, Psychiatry; and Shannon Johnson and Brittany Nealey, ED technical associates, YSC Adult ED, and Danielle Burness, RN, Magnet program specialist and Scholarship Committee member, were unable to attend the ceremony.
