Our survival statistics for coronary artery bypass, mitral valve repair and replacement and aortic valve replacement consistently exceed national and regional norms. The hospital has previously been recognized by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Database with three stars, its highest rating, in multiple cardiac surgery procedure categories, including isolated aortic valve replacement (AVR); combined AVR and coronary artery bypass graft (CABG); and mitral valve repair and replacement (MVRR). The MVRR three-star rating reflecting July 2020 to June 2023 time frame placed Yale New Haven Hospital among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the United States.
