The Heart and Vascular Center's Cardiomyopathy Program offers patients a full range of diagnostic, treatment and management services as well as extensive multidisciplinary support for adults and children with all types of cardiomyopathy.
The Cardiomyopathy Program is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to patients with inherited heart diseases. Patients and their families are cared for by nationally recognized experts in inherited cardiomyopathies and supported by genetic counselors and a clinical team that specializes in these conditions. We have advanced imaging technology to assist in disease diagnosis and management. Our range of services includes clinical and genetic evaluation, family screening, risk assessment, as well as medical and surgical treatments.
Cardiomyopathies We Treat
- Arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy
- Familial dilated cardiomyopathy
- Glycogen storage diseases
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
- Left ventricular non-compaction
- Restrictive cardiomyopathy
Cardiovascular Genetics Program
The Cardiovascular Genetics Program specializes in genetic screening, evaluation and counseling. This program's multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists applies the latest cardiovascular genetic research discoveries toward care of our patients and their families. The program evaluates patients with complex inherited cardiomyopathies, inherited lipid disorders, and inherited vascular diseases.
- Familial aortic aneurysms, Marfan syndrome and connective tissue disorders
- Familial coronary artery disease
- Familial hyperlipidemia
- Familial hypertension
- Inherited arrhythmias
The Cardiomyopathy and Cardiovascular Genetics programs combine to provide the best treatment options and the latest in testing to diagnose and manage inherited forms of cardiovascular disease. Through genetic testing, our physician scientists can diagnose those who are at risk for heart disease before it has developed. We also provide current therapy recommendations to prevent or delay heart disease in those who are at risk. In addition, patients are offered the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.
