Regional Anesthesiology Fellowship

The Yale Regional Anesthesia Fellowship is a one-year program designed to train the candidate in ultrasound, nerve stimulation and landmark guided peripheral nerve blocks using both single injection and continuous catheter technique.

Surgical Dermatology Fellowship

Dermatologic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology sponsors an Advanced Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship. The Section started in 1988 and has grown to the largest cutaneous surgery program in New England.

Medical Oncology-Hematology Program

The Yale Medical Oncology-Hematology Fellowship Program is a 36-month training program that adheres to the ACGME and ABIM guidelines for combined training in Medical Oncology and Hematology. The fellowship program provides comprehensive clinical training in the diagnosis and management of neoplastic and benign hematologic disorders and a robust research experience to prepare fellows for a career in academic medicine.  Fellows have the opportunity to train in diverse health care systems and to care for a diverse patient population with respect to gender and socio-economic backgrounds.

Training in the one-year program features plain film interpretation, including general orthopedics, trauma, pediatric imaging, orthopedic CT, MRI, interventional procedures (bone and soft tissue biopsies), arthrography and CT guided tumor localization.

Integrating rotations in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, Radiology and elective time, the Transitional program is sponsored by Yale New Haven Hospital's Departments of Medicine and Radiology and is affiliated with Yale School of Medicine. Assignments are broken into blocks, with residents assuming the same responsibilities as Categorical residents on respective services, including rotations in critical care units and specific medical and surgical services. You may also arrange electives in many of the hospital's available clinical teaching services, and orient them toward acute or ambulatory care. Among the choices are anesthesiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology, ophthalmology, podiatry, radiation oncology, radiology and more.

During every rotation, you will be an integral member of the patient care team and encouraged to fully participate in departmental conferences and teaching activities. Full-time faculty and senior house officers provide individual supervision and teaching. Because we want you to get the most out of your residency experience, our full-time faculty is devoted solely to resident teaching - whether at a patient's bedside or as a mentor for a reading group.

Resident performance is evaluated monthly by departmental faculty, and the program director meets quarterly with individual trainees - assuring that you receive the counseling and tailored curriculum needed to best meet your career and training goals.

Urology

The program accepts two residents each year for three years of clinical urology training, following two years of a basic surgical program. There also is a two-year research training grant slot available on an elective basis.
