Visiting Hours and Guidelines
To help prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and for the safety of our patients and staff, we are currently restricting visitation. Patients are not permitted visitors at this time.
Thank you for your cooperation and help in keeping our patients, staff and communities safe.
Exceptions to this policy may be made for neonatal ICU (NICU), pediatric, obstetric and psychiatric units as well as for extenuating circumstances, including those receiving end-of-life care. We continue to monitor the situation. The visitation restrictions will be amended when appropriate.
Please call the Yale New Haven Health
call center with questions:
Yale New Haven Hospital welcomes and encourages family and friends to visit patients. In fact, we believe that spending time with loved ones is a powerful part of the healing process.
For the safety of our patients, their caregivers and visitors, we ask you to limit visits to the hours specified below. Times and rules vary depending on the floor or unit you are visiting.
Friends and relatives may call the hospital's patient information line at 203-688-4177 at any time to find out a patient's room and telephone number.
Care Partners (Visitors)
As part of the Patient- and Family-Centered Model of Care, we want patients and families to be part of the team. We’re in this together and welcome care partners and families.

Visitors for inpatients are welcome between the hours of 10 am - 8 pm and will follow hospital
policies designed to provide a safe and restful environment for patient care. Special visiting arrangements
may be made on a case by case basis. Some specialty units have policies that differ; check with a member of the patient's care team for more information.
A care partner/support person may be present with patients 24 hours a day, with consideration of care
partner/support person guidelines and limitations/restrictions as outlined in this policy.
Children are welcome during visiting hours. Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by a non-patient adult who is at least 18 years old and are expected to remain with the adult who is supervising them. Children between the ages of 14 and 16 may visit unaccompanied by an adult with prior permission from the charge nurse or a designee.
Yale New Haven Hospital does not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of disability, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. Same-sex couples are afforded the same access as different-sex couples and next-of-kin.
