Patient Access Week is March 31 – April 6

Established in 1982, Patient Access Week is a celebration of healthcare professionals who often provide the first point of contact for patients and visitors and first impression of Yale New Haven Health. Patient Access staff are responsible for many crucial aspects of revenue cycle management, including scheduling, registration, appointment check-in, insurance verification, financial counseling, document scanning and retrieval and explanation of regulatory admission forms – all while providing exceptional customer service. Nearly every patient visit starts (and sometimes ends) with a Patient Access staff member.

YNHH earns Chest Pain Certification

Yale New Haven Hospital has again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Chest Pain Certification, which recognizes healthcare organizations that provide clinical programs across the continuum of care for chest pain. The Gold Seal reflects a healthcare organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. The certification evaluates how organizations use clinical outcomes and performance measures to identify opportunities to improve care and educate and prepare patients and their caregivers for discharge. YNHH’s Chest Pain Program is part of the Heart and Vascular Center.
