The Connecticut Sun basketball team has entered into an exclusive deal with Yale New Haven Health that designates the health system the Official Medical Provider of the Connecticut Sun.
A key component of the partnership is inclusion of the YNHHS logo on the official jerseys Sun players will wear throughout the 2019 season. The jerseys were featured on ESPN2 at the 2019 WNBA Draft presented by State Farm April 10.
“Yale New Haven Health’s commitment to the Connecticut Sun is a testament to the organization’s belief in the incredible women on our team, and will help amplify important messages around health and wellness,” said Sun Vice President Amber Cox. “We look forward to working with them to build programs that positively impact our community. In addition, Yale New Haven Health is known as being one of the top healthcare providers in the country, so we’re thrilled that our players will receive the very best care throughout the WNBA season.”
Through this partnership, YNHHS and the Sun will work together on a range of initiatives to directly benefit the local community. From basketball clinics to supporting established WNBA pillars such as breast health awareness, the two entities will collaborate on long-term programs for people of all ages.
“We are proud to partner with the Connecticut Sun to advance and promote women’s sports in Connecticut and throughout the country,” said Marna P. Borgstrom, YNHHS CEO. “The Sun is a world-class sports franchise with a legacy of success. We are excited to be a part of that tradition.”
