Marc Tangredi, Brittany Crawford
Marc Tangredi, off-shift clinical executive, and Brittany Crawford, chaplain resident, were jointly honored for going above and beyond for the family of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit patient with a poor prognosis. While the infant’s father was with her, the mother was in Stamford and unable to drive to New Haven. Tangredi and Crawford contacted the state police, Troop G of Bridgeport, and coordinated with troopers to transport the mother to the patient’s bedside.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit staff were recognized for teamwork and acts of genuine compassion while caring for a terminally ill teen-aged patient who was admitted after an unexpected diagnosis. During the several months the patient spent in the hospital, staff went out of their way to provide extraordinary comfort and care for the patient and grieving family.
