YNHHS hosts first Data Discovery Day

On June 11, Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine held their first Data Discovery Day to spotlight the wealth of data available to help staff and physicians transform the way they deliver care. Lisa Stump, chief information officer, YNHHS and Yale School of Medicine, noted that the organizations have spent the past two decades investing in technology that allows them to acquire critical data on the patients and communities they serve. Representatives from Information Technology Services were among the presenters who highlighted the types of information available through Epic and other internal and external databases; tools and resources to help physicians and staff access and use data; and data-driven projects that have expanded research and improved the safety, quality and value of care. The event also featured poster displays and demonstrations. Those unable to attend may view the presentations via a link on the employee intranet.
