YNHHS to launch new image-viewing system

After many years of planning, Yale New Haven Health is scheduled to launch the Visage imaging viewer July 29. Visage will provide advanced viewing capabilities and access to images across the health system and improve speed, reliability and overall patient safety and treatment.

The Visage imaging viewer and Primordial Prism Worklist Manager will replace Fuji Synapse PACS for any new radiology imaging at both Yale New Haven Hospital campuses, Bridgeport Hospital and associated outpatient Radiology locations. Greenwich Hospital clinicians also will be able to access the Visage viewer to view images from their respective locations, with full Visage implementation scheduled for after Greenwich Hospital’s Epic upgrade in October.

The Visage imaging viewer and Primordial Prism Worklist Manager will be integrated with a number of applications to make it easier and more efficient for radiologists to read images and access information. Visage will also dramatically improve imaging speed and functionality for all clinicians in the health system. It will be available through the Epic patient record or via direct access through a desktop icon.

Information Technology Services teams and radiologists are currently preparing Visage for implementation. Watch for further communications about the project and links to training.
