The Yale Center for Infectious Diseases is dedicated to education, research and clinical care of both inpatients and outpatients. The primary mission of the program is to provide the most technologically advanced, compassionate medical care for patients.
Infectious Diseases staff work to identify, prevent and control infections that may be acquired in the hospital, with the primary goal being patient safety. Staff members also provide training and education to staff, visitors and patients on disease prevention.
Committed to service excellence and maintaining a well-recognized excellence in patient care and medical education, staff members have state-of-the-art clinical expertise and engage in clinically oriented research.
Yale Center for Infectious Diseases provides comprehensive multi-specialty services including general consultative care to patients with known or suspected infectious diseases.
While the program offers consultative and collaborative services, working with referring physicians or groups, staff also acts as the main caregiver for patients in many cases. Care is multidisciplinary, involving skilled nurses, dietitians, social workers and other physicians.
The Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) AIDS Care Program was established in 1984 in response to the increasing number of individuals being treated for HIV/AIDS at Yale New Haven Hospital. The program provides comprehensive care to adults, adolescents and children living with HIV/AIDS and their families and significant others.
Yale New Haven Hospital offers unique care for residents of Connecticut and are experiencing severe and lingering symptoms 90 days after recovering from COVID-19. This condition is sometimes called long-haul COVID or long COVID.
The Yale Center for Infectious Diseases (YCID) Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Clinic is a non-primary care, adult outpatient clinic within YCID. Our STI clinic promotes sexual health by providing screening, treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted infections.
The Travel and Tropical Medicine program provides personalized consultation and clinical care for individuals preparing for travel outside the United States and for those returning with infections.
