YNHHS adopts color-coded masking policy

Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine have adopted a policy that uses colors to guide staff on when to wear masks, based on respiratory infection rates:

  • Green: masking optional
  • Yellow: masking recommended
  • Red: masking required

As of Nov. 13, the organizations were at a yellow level based on current and anticipated increases in respiratory viral infections. Signs posted at entrances will show the appropriate color and masking recommendation. For more information about the policy and masking requirements, visit the employee intranet

YNHHS has new phone number to access Teletime

YNHHS has changed the number employees use to access Teletime to 203-200-5380. Beginning Dec. 5, callers to the old number will hear a recording directing them to the new one. Changing from a toll-free to a local phone number will save money for the health system without impacting service. The process for using Teletime to record a swipe is not changing. Employees will still enter their employee ID number and password before hearing the same automated menu. The current process to request Teletime access also will remain the same. New requests require management approval and must be submitted in ServiceNow.

YNHH implements parking improvements for patients and visitors

The hospital recently implemented parking improvements that include electronic payment for valet parking, along with transportation assistance at hospital entrances. Patients and visitors who use valet parking may now:

  • Have a virtual valet ticket set to their smartphones
  • Use their phone to pay for parking when leaving the hospital or
  • Pay for valet services using cash or credit card in one of the Pay on Foot machines in the Smilow Cancer Hospital lobby and York Street Campus main lobby

Transportation assistants will be in the York Street Campus and Saint Raphael Campus main lobbies to help with patient pickup, parking questions, assisting patients with taxis or rideshares.
