Research

Yale School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry is a world leader in psychiatric research. The school's faculty is dedicated to developing improved treatments for our psychiatric patients, using the most advanced methods and technologies available.

Many members of the psychiatric medical staff at both Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital are involved in or lead innovative research programs. Collaboration is central to our success, with interdisciplinary and translational teams of basic and clinical scientists working together to bring breakthroughs from the laboratory to the clinic as soon as possible. Mentorship is a departmental priority as we train the next generation of leaders in our field, while dedication to discovery characterizes our commitment to promoting mental health and the improved understanding, treatment and prevention of mental illness.
