AHA 2015 Get with the Guidelines Award

Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award

Yale-New Haven Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA). This recognition is earned by hospital teams who achieve specific quality measures identified as vital for the optimal treatment of stroke. Yale-New Haven also received the 2015 Target Stroke Elite Award for treating over 75 percent of patients with a clot-dissolving medication in under 60 minutes of arrival.

Breast Center receives national accreditation

The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven received a three-year full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), an accrediting body administered by the American College of Surgeons. The Center's affiliation with Yale Cancer Center makes it the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in New England to also have the NAPBC accreditation.

Society of Chest Pain Centers Accreditation

Yale-New Haven Hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC), a non-profit international society dedicated to improving care for patients having heart attacks. Yale-New Haven has earned Cycle III accreditation - the highest designation given by the SCPC.

A designated Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma facility

Yale-New Haven is a designated Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma facility, the first and only hospital in the state of Connecticut with this status. The trauma center provides the highest level of surgical care to trauma patients, delivered by expert medical and nursing staffs in the emergency department, operating rooms and intensive care units.

Yale-New Haven Hospital has received the American College of Radiology's (ACR) Magnetic Resonance Imaging accreditation, a peer-reviewed, educationally focused evaluation process that helps assure patients of the highest level of image quality and safety.

YNHH designated a Level 4 Epilepsy Center

Yale-New Haven Hospital has been designated as a Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. A fourth level center provides the more complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostics monitoring, as well as more extensive medical, neuropsychological, and psychosocial treatment.
